Saw this in my kiddo’s art room at school last night (”fun fest) and thought it was one of the coolest things around.  Yea yea “Sancho’s a Libtard”… whatev…

Once the work starts the whining does as well. “We don’t have anough time” ,”There’s no way we can get this done in time”, “They expect us to do what?” blah blah blah. The line I like to go to when things get crazy is “You know why we’re going get this done?” “Because we have to” And we always do. (Hmm, I don’t know why, but I’m told I “snap” once in awhile… I still don’t believe it)

You think these guys gave in to the whining? (FYI, this is “the castle” over a hundred years ago)

So, today’s “Friday Framer”… everybody whines, get the job done anyways.

I saw him complain about finding something left out too long, and ever since then I just couldn’t get “Chocolate Cheese” out of my mind.  Man, how can you not love even the SOUND of it…Chocolate….Cheese… they belong together… Yummmm.  Dude, and it even comes in slices!  Okay, I don’t think I’ll ever have a choco-burger, but a nice cool chunk o the stuff sure does sound good…

My first U-glitch…

We recently had U-Verse installed at the homestead, and I have to say it beats dish (we can still watch when it rains), and cable (just because), but for some strange reason, for the past few weeks my outlook hasn’t been able to send e-mails (kind of a need to do when I’m running jobs) and I couldn’t figure out why. Insert the Big E, I thought it was my dang laptop, E thought it was a firewall in u-verse.  Yup.. sort of.  It turns out ATT has “filters” in the system, and it wasn’t allowing any outgoing messages from outlook.  I could receive just fine, jus not send anything.  One phone call and ATT removed the filter, and I’m back to bugging my subs!  Thanks E. 

the Chicago Dog…

I finally had the Chicago Dog at the Dog Haus in Milwaukee (thanks for the referal Jeff) and it ROCKED! Hey Jeff, just what kind of Relish was that? Kind of fluorescent green looking, sweetness! It’s the first time I’ve ever like relish… And the best part? Having lunch with my bro Silent E (Sup dude) (Actually we missed each other by a few minutes yesterday, we got it together today though!)  Oh, and if I didn’t have pickles with the Chicago, is it still a Chicago? No? Hmmm, okay, I guess I had the Kenosha then. Just as good!

Blog n Grog final announcement

Here’s the deal, monthly Blog n Grog, at Neighbors on Main, LAST Tuesday of the month (thanks Steveegg), at 7p.m. That’s final until something changes, and this is the final notice until the next one… Looking forward to seeing you all again, and hopefully we’ll see a few more of you out there! (those of you that “almost” made the last one, you’re more than welcome to the next, you and a few of your friends) (And the same rule applies, if you can find Waukesha on the map, you are officially invited!)

Public works vs Private Employees?

I saw something ironic Tuesday on my daytime travels about town.  About 8 am near the corner of Madison and St. Paul I saw a red city truck in the  parking lot and 6, count’m 6 public works department employees checking out the wiring for a light post that had been knocked over. I should say 2 of the workers were actually looking at the wires. One at the pole and one in the sidewalk/approach where there is a mini-manhole cover.  There had to be 20 wires coming of of both sides.  4 of the other guys were standing around, away from these 2 workers, chatting away. Must have been discussing how to fix the pole, uhm, yeah, that’s it… supervising…..  I had to laugh, it’s the old city/county worker joke.. lean on the shovel all day.   Later that afternoon at the corner of West Ave and Sunset I see 8 more jokers in their florescent day glow lime vests working at spreading concrete.  Amazing. All but 2 were actually in the cement, spreading or shoveling… actually moving!  HA!   My faith in public workers renewed.  But no… I see a Zignego Concrete truck.  So, now I don’t know if they were public workers or employee’s of Zignego, I didn’t see any familiar red city trucks.  What made me smile was the 2 people who weren’t working.  No, they weren’t leaning on a shovel.  Although it looked as if they took a minute out to chat with a passerby, they were standing at the window of a car who happened to misjudge the barricades at the intersection.  She was traveling East, and they were working in the 2 center-most east and west lanes.   She had driven directly into a freshly poured, freshly smoothed WET concrete pad.  Right up to her hubcap’s, and the 2 men  have been trying to figure out if she could get out of the pit or if they’d need to get her towed.  I felt sorry for the woman, driving on Sunset is no easy task especially when there are little yellow and orange striped barricades with flashing lights all over an intersection with no clear directional signs or lane closed.  So.. regardless of who these guys worked for, clearer lane markers would have been nice, but to see all 8 actually doing WORK was refreshing.  I only wish I would have checked out further who they worked for, but it was great not to see a single one not leaning on a shovel.

And the lamp post?  It’s still down.

Update - I wanted to post this at La Raza cause I had this upcoming election in mind when I pulled it, but it is a work of art, and it was for the Wednesday Work, so here it stays.
