Hey!

I am still around, I thought after passing the exam I would have all of this time.  Low and behold, the spouse had a whole list of things for me to do (get caught up on).

I was wondering around the Blog today, something I have not had time to do in awhile, and realized that I just have been neglecting everybody at Hobo Springs.  I said months ago that I  wanted to come up with a topic other than politics or Accounting to write about.

I think I found a few.

So, I am going to make the effort to try to include something each week, which is a tall order with all that I get to do, including the honey do list.

One thing that I may share is my amateur home renovations.  One of the big things that my wife wanted me to do as soon as my testing was done was to start on a rec room in the basement.

Since the city is cracking down on permits, I actually went and got one for the room.  After supplying my drawings, and my information.  Waiting ten days.  Frankly I just can’t fathom why it would take 10 days to look at my scribbling on a piece of paper.  Maybe they had to interpret what I wrote.  I got the permit.

All for the low low price of $200.00.

The whole time I was waiting my dad insisted that a permit probably would not be more than $50.  Yeah right, maybe in 1978 but now, $200 smackers and I haven’t even laid out the first 2×4.

Anyway, it’s been a few weeks and the walls are up and plumb.  Now to tackle the electricity.

I am hiring an electrician for that.
